

Parrasocial is a music festival which features artists from the Greater Western Sydney region or ‘The Area’, as locals call it. The event aims to celebrate the diversity of The Area’s music scene, expose young people to opportunities in the creative arts industry, combat social issues and donate to initiatives specific to the region, and to support the local economy by bringing about attention. Most especially, the festival bridges the gap between artists and fans to alleviate sensation deprivation in the current experience economy, hence the name referring to parasocial interaction and a Parramatta social event. This marketing campaign was presented and submitted for MMCC2090 The Music Business at Macquarie University.
